Risk Manager - Qualified Life Actuary


My client is a multinational and a leading provider of financial services products who are looking to build up their risk management function by recruiting actuarial talent to this team.  The role reports to the CRO with exposure to the CFO and the Chief Actuary.  The Risk department and the actuarial department work very closely together hence the preference for recruiting an actuary to this area. The Risk department here also work closely with the overall Group Risk Function and collaboration on best practise is actively encouraged within the group.  This group is a central component to the company's solvency II regime and this position is crucial in identifying, researching, communicating and managing risks that the company is exposed to using the company's internal model to its full capacity. Specific duties that the risk manager will get involved in will include:
  • Supporting the design maintenance and review of the company's risk management framework
  • Represent the risk team both internally and to group committees
  • Support the development of the company's internal model
  • Development of the risk function deliverables under solvency II.
A full role profile is available for suitable individuals who want to find out more about this role. My client is flexible on their requirements for this role but the ideal candidate will be a qualified actuary with a life background who has exposure to solvency II implementation. The company will also consider nearly or newly qualified actuaries who have taken ST9 as part of their qualification process and who want to look for a career within the risk department.
