While this is usually considered as a relatively quiet time of the year for the Irish Actuarial market, we have found that it has been busy right through the summer with no sign of slowing down. This goes in hand with the Irish economy continuing to do well and also the continued influence of Brexit. It is a very exciting time for the Irish market with the amount of positive attention from multinational financial services firms seeking to locate here.
The first impacts of Brexit on the Irish Actuarial Market
Over the past few summer months we have seen many large organisations like Beazley, Berkshire Hathaway, Nexus and Bank of America announcing their preference for Ireland as a post-Brexit location. Chubb Insurance and Equitable Life are both also considering Dublin for possible European subsidiaries. Royal London is awaiting clearance from the Central Bank of Ireladn to launch an Irish subsidiary, and R&Q Insurance, part of British firm Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings, has also just received the green light to provide motor insurance to Irish drivers. We are also seeing many companies already established in Ireland undergoing changes in structure and expansion of services.
The Irish insurance market is set to grow significantly from all of this activity. We are already seeing the creation of many new innovative and diverse roles due to these developments. The demand for actuarial resources is certainly showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
If your organisation is looking for resources then we are happy to advise and be of assistance. Additionally, if you are interested in exploring what potential opportunities are out there as a result of all of this activity, then do get in touch. Your business is always valued and we will do our best to help you.
