We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Qualified Actuary to join a leading global reinsurance provider as Head of Operations. This position is based in Dublin City Centre. The ideal candidate will have experience in change management, leadership, commercial awareness, risk and control and leadership. In this role you will be reporting to head office and this position will involve managing the operational and technological environments of the Dublin office. A background in life or reinsurance is advantageous.
About the head of operations role
Duties for this Head of Operations role include (but are not limited to):
- Mentor and develop a team of both qualified and trainee actuaries, helping the team reach its full potential.
- Cross functional collaboration to ensure technology infrastructure and processes are fit for purpose.
- Ability to maintain excellent internal and external client relationships.
- Manage the operations team whose responsibilities include quarterly actuarial reporting, managing transaction data for the portfolios, validating and cleansing data and reviewing client treaties and providing feedback to businesses.
Actuarial Skills required
Our client is looking to find a Senior Qualified Actuary with at least five years PQE and experience in change management and transformation programmes. Candidates must ideally have experience of the following:
- Self-motivation with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to influence and manage effectively creating an atmosphere where employees can reach their fullest potential.
- Ability to develop effective collaborative relationships cross functionally.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in particular, the ability to communicate complex concepts to a range of audiences.
