Modelling Actuary

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Qualified Actuary to join a leading global reinsurance and insurance provider as a Modelling Actuary. This position is based in Dublin City Centre. This position would suit a curious and ambitious actuary who enjoys working with complex models. They will also have technical expertise, organisational, communication and influencing skills, leadership skills and the ability to promote innovation and change. This role will work as part of the Modelling Team and duties will range from delivery of quarterly (IFRS, LICAT, Solvency II, treaty collateral) and annual (Business plan, financial condition testing and ORSA) reporting. 

About the Modelling Actuary role

Duties for the Modelling Actuary role include (but are not limited to):  

  • Aid in the development and implementation of improvements to the actuarial data models and reporting processes to improve functionality.
  • Cross functional collaboration to implement new transactions into the actuarial modelling framework.
  • Produce clear and concise documentation and effectively communicate insights and results to key stakeholders.
  • Aid in the production of the quarterly and annual actuarial reporting deliverables. 

Actuarial skill required

Our client is looking to find a Newly Qualified Actuary with three years relevant experience with a life or reinsurance background. They will also consider those close to qualification. Candidates must ideally have experience of the following:  

  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines. 
  • Experienced in Prophet, SQL, R, Power BI and an understanding of coding standards and best practice.
  • Previous experience of data management, financial reporting, cash flow modelling or model development. 
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to reliably collect, manage and assimilate large amounts of data with great attention to detail.
