We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Actuary with several years of actuarial experience, ideally in non-life, risk, and capital modelling, to join a well-known financial and actuarial firm on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will join a high-performing actuarial team supporting the development, delivery, and ongoing maintenance of the Solvency II Internal Capital Model and wider capital management processes. This is a key role contributing to regulatory compliance, business planning, and strategic decision-making.

this role, you’ll contribute to the ongoing development, maintenance, and delivery of the Solvency II Internal Capital Model and related capital management processes. Your work will directly support regulatory compliance, business insight, and strategic decision-making. With minimal supervision, you’ll manage complex actuarial tasks and collaborate with colleagues across functions, including Finance, Risk, Reinsurance, and Investments.

Duties for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Lead detailed actuarial and capital modelling tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring robust analysis aligned with Solvency II Internal Model standards.
  • Produce, analyse, and communicate key results for specific risk categories within the internal model, including preparing management briefings and supporting documentation.
  • Validate and reconcile key data inputs, assumptions, and outputs during internal model runs, contributing to strong model governance and reliability.
  • Support model enhancements through expert judgment reviews, parameter updates, and annual recalibrations, while contributing to the ongoing development of internal methodologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, risk, reinsurance, and investment teams to support initiatives such as SCR monitoring, portfolio transfers, and regulatory reporting (e.g., ORSA, SFCR, QRTs).

Actuarial skills required

This position would suit a Qualified actuary with several years of actuarial experience, preferably in non-life, risk and capital modelling.

  • Deliver high-impact capital and actuarial analysis with minimal oversight, helping drive informed risk and business decisions in line with Solvency II Internal Model requirements.
  • Collaborate across actuarial, finance, risk, and investment teams to support cross-functional projects and strengthen integration
  • Ensure data integrity and model reliability by reconciling key assumptions, parameters, and results, supporting both regulatory compliance and internal governance.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives, including regulatory reporting (ORSA, SFCR, QRTs), reinsurance renewals, and SCR monitoring activities.
