Our client, a well-established an international general insurance company, is seeking to appoint a highly experienced and strategic Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for its Irish entity. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior risk professional to step into a pivotal leadership role within a growing organisation operating across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the risk management function, ensuring a robust and compliant framework covering all material risks.
- Provide strategic risk insight and reporting to the Board and Executive Committee, including oversight of risk appetite, stress testing and governance standards.
- Embed a strong risk culture across the organisation, maintaining risk and control registers and ensuring effective risk processes and controls.
- Lead the ORSA process, delivering annual and ad hoc ORSAs to regulatory and internal standards, and addressing all CBI feedback.
- Support M&A activities through risk due diligence, acquisition ORSAs and effective integration of new portfolios into the risk framework.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Risk, Actuarial Science or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) an advantage.
- Significant senior risk management experience within insurance or financial services, with strong knowledge of Solvency II and CBI regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to influence Board and Executive stakeholders.
- Expertise in enterprise risk frameworks, ORSA processes, stress testing and governance.
- Experience supporting M&A activity, including risk assessment and integration planning.
