We have a new opportunity for a Qualified Capital Actuary join a team of highly skilled Actuaries working at a major European Insurance Group. The successful candidate will work on the production and methodology of Solvency II Internal Capital Model and other related processes. This position is based in Dublin and has hybrid working options. The role is a 12-month FTC and the company will consider daily rate contractors.
About the Capital Actuary role
In this role, you will be working on the Capital Actuarial team for a 12-month FTC. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Maintain and develop relationships with senior colleagues and mentor junior team members.
- Collaborate cross functionally with a variety of the group’s teams.
- Ability to produce Capital Results and scenarios, contribution to Profit and Loss attribution.
- Provide first line validation work, support model change and independent validation activities.
- Aid and contribute to the Finance, Capital, Reinsurance, Risk and Investment teams.
- Produce input and support to Solvency II compliance and other relevant regulatory reporting.
Actuarial skills required
This position would suit a Qualified Actuary who has several years’ experience working in an actuarial setting. Non-life experience is advantageous. Additional skills required include:
- Ability to manage a diverse portfolio. Deep knowledge of business practices and policies
- Experience in multiple functions preferred.
- Ability to communicate efficiently both written and oral. Fluent English.
- Intermediate Knowledge of finance and accounting practices and strong software and programming language skills (R, SQL, SAS, etc).
- Excellent analytical skills with a can-do attitude and customer focused approach.
