We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Qualified Actuary to join a leading global reinsurance and insurance provider as a Risk Director. This position is based in Dublin City Centre. The ideal candidate will have in depth relevant industry experience, excellent analytical skills and the ability to implement best practice risk frameworks. In this role you will be reporting to the Chief Risk Officer and the role will focus on quantitative insurance and financial risk.
About the Risk Director role
Duties for this Risk Director role include (but are not limited to):
- Develop and embed an increasingly sophisticated risk management framework.
- Review risk function and challenge of annual financial plan.
- Produce risk management papers and reporting for Management, Risk Committee and Board.
- Challenge and organise modelling aspects of ORSA.
- Provide independent oversight of quantitative risks including Insurance Risk (Pricing, Reserving, Exposure Management and Ceded Reinsurance) and Financial Risk (Solvency, Investment and Liquidity).
Actuarial Skills required
Our client is looking to find a Senior Qualified Actuary with an extensive understanding of quantitative non-life insurance and financial risk. Candidates must ideally have experience of the following:
- Non-life actuarial experience is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to influence and manage effectively.
- Ability to develop effective collaborative relationships cross functionally.
- Experience of Solvency II pillar 1 requirements.
- Self-motivated and highly organised.
