We are currently seeking a Nearly/Qualified Actuary to join a fast-growing Irish non-life insurer as a Non-Life Actuary working in an analytics position. This position is based in Dublin City Centre. The ideal candidate will have in depth P&C knowledge and experience of GI Reserving. This is a highly visible position where you will be working as part of the wider actuarial team collaborating cross functionally.
About the Non-Life Actuary role
Duties for this Non-Life Actuary role include (but are not limited to):
- Reviewing of quarterly reserves and quarterly SCR and inputs to the ORSA stress and scenario tests.
- Leading on the external actuarial opinion and audit engagement for year-end.
- Direct and lead reserving co-ordination and discussions with underwriting, pricing, claims, finance, and reinsurance to improve underwriting results.
- Setting of key actuarial assumptions and methods for both GAAP & Solvency II TPs.
- Managing the execution of future enhancements to the reserving and capital modelling tools, approaches, and add-value proposition.
- Upgrading the monitoring, MI, and communication of key risks.
Actuarial skills required
Our client is looking to find a Nearly/recently Qualified Actuary with in-depth knowledge of European market practices, modelling, and datasets. Candidates must ideally have experience of the following:
- Excellent SQL, Power BI and ResQ, IT skills and MS Excel.
- Strong reserve, reserve risk modelling and standard formula modelling experience.
- Excellent time management with great organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate modelling process and results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly driven, flexible individual with an appetite to network learn and develop.
