Senior Manager, Actuarial Governance – Contract

We’re excited to support a well-established international life insurer in their search for a Senior Manager, Actuarial Governance. This is a fixed-term contract opportunity for a Qualified Actuary to lead key governance deliverables within a highly skilled Actuarial Function, working across a broad range of insurance products and international markets.

About the role

The Senior Manager, Actuarial Governance will report to the Head of Actuarial Function and play a pivotal role in the production of key actuarial governance reports, opinions, and validation activities. This role includes leadership responsibility for a small team, frequent engagement with senior stakeholders, and involvement in strategic projects, offering significant exposure across the business.

Please note, this is a fixed-term contract for 12 to 15 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production of Actuarial Reports and Opinions including ARTP, AFR, AOTP, ORSA, and other regulatory deliverables
  • Lead the assumption-setting process and support the preparation of associated governance documentation
  • Provide review and validation oversight within the Actuarial Function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and present actuarial materials for management, board committees, and external stakeholders, including auditors and peer reviewers
  • Manage and develop a small team while coordinating with colleagues across the actuarial function
  • Support actuarial input into projects and initiatives (e.g., accounting/regulatory interpretations, new product development)

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Actuary with approx. 5+ years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong background in life insurance and financial reporting
  • Deep knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS 17, and CBI requirements
  • Proven experience engaging with senior stakeholders and delivering high-quality outputs
  • Demonstrated leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
